About the Society

The Palm Coast Historical Society is a community-based organization dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and sharing the history of Palm Coast. Through collections, research, exhibits, and public programs, the Society works to ensure that the city’s story—its places, people, and everyday experiences—is not lost as the community continues to grow.

The Society serves residents, researchers, students, and visitors interested in understanding how Palm Coast developed and how its history connects to the broader story of the region. By making historical materials accessible and encouraging curiosity about the past, the Society supports a deeper appreciation of the city’s identity and heritage.

The mission of the Palm Coast Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and share the history of the land, city, and people of Palm Coast-educating the community and preserving it for future generations.

What We Do

The Palm Coast Historical Society supports historical preservation and education through a range of activities, including:

  • Collecting and preserving documents, photographs, and personal accounts
  • Interpreting local history through exhibits, articles, and research
  • Sharing historical knowledge through public programs, talks, and outreach
  • Maintaining a museum presence and reference resources for the community

Founded in 2000, the Society continues to build on its original purpose: to document Palm Coast’s history carefully and thoughtfully, while it can still be remembered firsthand, and to share that history with present and future generations.

The City of Palm Coast Historical Society and Museum is a not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Florida and recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. [View governing bylaws (PDF)]
